Exploration
Throughout this term, Exploration will be exploring how they can demonstrate the school values through our Visual Art class. We will be exploring how a growth mindset and taking risks in Visual Art can support us in developing our artworks. We will be exploring the Easter story and how we can create religious artworks to demonstrate our understanding and feelings towards the story. Towards the end of the term, Exploration will begin practising their drawing skills by drawing a detailed self-portrait.
Discovery
Throughout this term, Discovery will be exploring how they can demonstrate the school values through our Visual Art class. We will be exploring how a growth mindset and taking risks in Visual Art can support us in developing ourselves as artists. We will be exploring the Easter story and will be creating a religious artwork that reflects on our mood and feelings towards the story. Towards the end of the term, Discovery will begin practising sketching and developing their practise in drawing different facial features through a self-portrait.
Curiosity
Throughout this term, students will be exploring how they can demonstrate the school values through our Visual Art class. We will be exploring how a growth mindset and taking risks in Visual Art can support us in developing our practice as artists. We will be exploring the Catholic tradition of Ash Wednesday and what this means for our faith. Discovery students will be creating an artwork reflecting the customs and traditions of Ash Wednesday and reflecting on how this artwork can be displayed to an audience. At the end of the term, students will be exploring a range of artist styles and forms throughout cultures and history and how this impacts their personal art style.
Challenge
Throughout this term, students will be exploring how they can demonstrate the school values through our Visual Art class. We will be exploring how a growth mindset and taking risks in Visual Art can support us in developing our practice as artists. Challenge students will be exploring the Easter Story, in particular the Stations of the Cross. Students will be investigating the story associated with each station and analysing historical and modern artworks created by artists to inform their artistic representation of each station. Students will reflect and evaluate how their artwork has delivered a message and how they can display the artwork to the audience to maintain the intended meaning.
