News & Events

Dear Families,

I wish to inform you that our Principal, Mr Bill Hill, is currently unwell and will be taking some time to rest and recover. During this period, please direct any enquiries to me by contacting the school office on (03) 80996699 or by sending an email to: lorraine.stevenson@slweirviews.catholic.edu.au

I understand many of our families have Bill’s personal contact details; I ask that you refrain from contacting him directly until he returns to school. At this stage we are unsure when this is likely to be, but we will be sure to keep you informed.

We ask that you keep Bill & his family in your thoughts and prayers.

Thank you for your continued support and understanding.

Stop, Think, Do Problem Solving Strategy

Across the school we encourage a problem solving strategy called STOP. THINK, DO.  This strategy is represented as a traffic light symbol.  Students will talk about ways to STOP, calm down, and then identify the problem they are faced with.

All children in grades Prep to Six participated in classroom activities that help them to develop an understanding of STOP, THINK, DO.  The activities focus on learning the three steps of the process, beginning with practical ways to STOP. We then shift to problem solving using the THINK and DO steps of the strategy.

MACS EYE EARLY LEARNING HUB

St Lawrence of Brindisi Kindergarten: Your Child’s Space to Flourish

We are thrilled to announce that St Lawrence of Brindisi Kindergarten will open its doors in early 2026, as part of a brand new, purpose-built Children’s Hub.

This exciting new facility will be operated by MACSEYE and co-located with St Lawrence of Brindisi Catholic Primary School, creating a seamless, supportive environment for young learners and their families.

The kindergarten will offer programs for both 3 and 4-year-old children, proudly funded and approved by the Victorian Government. These programs are designed to spark curiosity, encourage creativity, and lay the foundations for lifelong learning in a caring and inclusive environment.

For busy families, the hub will provide before and after care services for both kindergarten and primary school students – making it easier to balance work and family life.

As our hub grows, it will become home to additional community services, providing even more support for children and families in the area.

Most importantly, MACSEYE are committed to working in close partnership with our primary school and local parish to foster a strong, values-based community where every child can grow, belong, and thrive.

St Lawrence of Brindisi Kindergarten is more than just a place to learn—it’s your child’s space to flourish.
