Exploration Learning Community
During Sport this term, students will:
In Exploration, students will work on basic movement skills such as running, jumping, skipping, and hopping. Students will learn how to throw, catch, and control objects at different heights and explore how to shift their body weight while moving. These activities will help build confidence, coordination, and awareness of how their bodies move.
Discovery Grade One Learning Community (Milos Cugurovic)
In Discovery Grade One this term, students will focus on using different parts of their bodies to move in different directions, such as walking, running, and skipping. They will also practise balancing and learn what helps them stay stable in different positions. Students will apply these skills in fun activities like relays, follow the leader, and basic obstacle courses, helping them improve their coordination and movement abilities.
Discovery Grade Two Learning Community
In Discovery Grade Two this term, students will work on improving their movement skills by using different parts of their bodies to travel in various directions. They will practise choosing and applying the right movements to navigate games and obstacle courses. Students will also focus on controlling objects with equipment and their bodies to boost their coordination and ability to play games.
Curiosity Grade Three Learning Community
In Curiosity Grade Three this term, students will develop movement and control skills through volleyball and cricket. Students will also explore different techniques to aim and propel objects toward targets at various distances. Additionally, they will focus on shifting their body weight during activities like striking and moving to improve control and coordination.
Curiosity Grade Four Learning Community
In Curiosity Grade Four this term, students will develop their movement and control skills through volleyball and cricket. They will practice moving their bodies towards an object and explore different ways to aim and propel objects toward targets at various distances. Additionally, they will focus on shifting their body weight during activities like striking and moving, helping to improve their control, power, and coordination.
Challenge Grade Five Learning Community
In Challenge Grade Five this term, students will build their skills through cricket and volleyball. They will practise smoothly moving between actions such as leaping to balancing and serving to returning in different activities. Students will also develop their striking and throwing techniques in new games while learning to use feedback to improve their coordination, control, and overall confidence in movement.
Challenge Grade Six Learning Community
In Challenge this term, students will build their skills through cricket and volleyball. They will practise moving smoothly between actions, such as leaping to balancing and serving to returning. Students will also refine their striking and throwing techniques in different games while learning to use feedback to improve their coordination and control.
