Dear Parents & Guardians

Building Sacramental understanding across our school is of paramount importance. In order to support this thinking and with the support of the Parish, our Year 5 students will participate in a Confirmation Retreat Day to be held on Tuesday August 29 at St Anthony’s Primary school. All students will be required to be dropped off and picked up from this location. We ask that your child is dropped off at St Anthony’s Primary school at 9.00am at the entrance of the school. All students are to meet Jay Russell at the front entrance of the school, to ensure they are marked as present.

The children will be able to wear casual clothes on this day and will need to bring a snack for the morning break. Lunch (pizza) and afternoon tea (doughnut & drink) will be provided on the day. Students will stay at St Anthony’s to rehearse and will be picked up after the meeting for all parents starting at 4.45pm.

Our proposed outline for the day will be:

  • 9:30am – Mass celebrated by Father Alex or Father Wilford at St Anthony’s Church with all Yr 5’s
  • 10:00am – Talk about the Sacrament of Confirmation (15mins) by Father Alex or Father Wilford
  • 10:30am – Start watching We are Marshall (30mins while eating snack) upstairs in the classroom
  • 11:00am – Normal Recess Break
  • 11:45am – Rotational Activities (Teacher lead) (including Reconciliation) In the Church
  • 12:45pm – Lunch (special shared lunch)
  • 1:15pm – Go outside to play for 30 mins
  • 1:45pm Continue watching We are Marshall (1hr 33mins)
  • 3:20pm Sacrament students remain at school and have a light snack
  • 3:45pm – 4:45pm Final Rehearsal in the Church
  • 4:45pm – 15 minute parent meeting in the Church

We would ask that you please complete this form via Operoo as soon as possible. No student will be able to attend the retreat day at St Anthony’s without this being completed beforehand.

Thank you
